Population
of Pattaya is made up of the local Thais, expatriates and foreigners who
visit Pattaya to enjoy a carefree life. Registered population of Pattaya
is around 100,000. However, people who haven't registered are much more
than this figure. Majority of the population here consists of Thais who
work in Pattaya and long-term expatriates. No other place in Thailand is
like Pattaya.
Temporary Population
Constant influx of international tourists in Pattaya pronounces that
locals can easily sell goods to them and make money. This is the reason
why thousands of people from all over Thailand have come and settled in
Pattaya. Most of these people permanently live in Pattaya while there
are many, who come to Pattaya, live and do business for some months, and
then leave. Many people come to Pattaya for search of livelihood even
from Bangkok.
Expatriate Population
Fine beaches, activities, entertainment, nightlife as well as the easy
availability of western goods make it a favorite destination among the
expatriates. Pattaya has more than 10,000 expatriate residents from all
over the world. These expatriates are living a peaceful retired life
here. They can get in Pattaya all facilities available in their country
but in much less cost. Shopping malls, international restaurants, local
bars, social clubs and movie houses are abundant in Pattya.
