Pattaya
has array of discotheques where you can disco the night out. Most of
these discos are located in South Pattaya, particularly in Walking
Street and 3rd Road. People who love to make fun in night visit these
discos. These nightspots in Pattaya draw most bizarre variety of
patrons, from oil company executives to pretty gay boys, from sailors to
businessmen, to sexy working girls plying their trade or the
transvestites. People from all walks of life visit these discos.
Western Discotheques
Party animals from all parts of world throng these discotheques. They
could be from Asia, Europe, Middle East or the Americas. Getting
together, these people have great fun in each others' company. They have
cocktails or any neat brand, and then they start dancing on loud music.
Most discos play Western music. However, there are some who play Thai

Disco culture crept into Pattaya during the Vietnam war days when US
marines used to come here for recreation and relaxation. They drank to
their fill and then danced and danced. Many discos have been running
till date from those days. In those days, some of the discotheques had
sunken dance floors but now they have been filled in to levelise.
However, there are many who were fond of old days.
Tightening of Noose
There were times when loud music went on in Pattaya nightlife stops
till sunrise. Bars closed till 3am and then there were rounds of music
and dance. People enjoyed clubbing. However, an order has been imposed
recently which has made shutting down of the discotheques at 1am
mandatory. So fun-making, drinking and dancing people, have to leave the
place now by midnight.
